Beer + Art = Brenner Brewery

This is Mike Brenner, an all around good guy, who's helped promote and support artists, is active in the art community, and loves beer. That was a little lame version of ALL that he has done and continues to do in the community.

Mike's starting up a brewery, but still could use your help!

The Brenner Brewing Company is a brewery-in-planning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It all started on a sunny spring morning four years ago while homebrewing a batch of beer in front of my art gallery, Hotcakes. I realized that for 8 years people had been coming to my arts events for the beer in the keg more than the art on the walls. Then it hit me. I needed to flip the whole process. Instead of luring people into my art gallery with free beer and then trying to convince them to buy art, I should sell the beer and use my brewery as a vehicle to support and promote local artists and musicians.

$10,000 is a lot of money, but it's only .01% of the money I need to get the brewery up and running and survive the first couple years. So keep telling your friends and sharing the links I post on the Brenner Brewing Facebook page.

Potential investors constantly ask me if Milwaukeeans even wants another brewery. Even a $1 contribution is a Vote YES! See if you can convince a few of your friends to donate just $1. It would be a HUGE help. Thank You! Mike.

His kickstarter ends June 17th. Every $1 helps!

Rosie and Boris

I had an early morning shoot with Rosie( Airedale terrier) and Boris (mutt). Both so incredibly sweet. The location was the runway ROMP park near the airport (hence the name).

Little Free Library

Over the weekend, my partner in crime, Joe, and I, art-ed up a Little Free Library. I picked up this beige colored Library box on Thursday afternoon. Friday night was spent putting the first 4(?)layers of paint on. Thanks Joe!

Pat Wyzbinski and her husband Scott Gelze, are behind this fun and wonderful project/fundraiser.

The Little Free Library social enterprise is on a mission to build 2,510 free book exchanges around the world. The movement began in Hudson, WI with a son’s tribute to his mother. Pat and Scott's son, Brandon would have turned 29 this year, so in his memory they have begun a community effort that will result in 29 little libraries being installed in Milwaukee. This project is a perfect combination of handiwork and heartwork that Brandon would have loved. Proceeds will be donated to the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network.

Local First Milwaukee

Kashou Carpets, TheWaxwing, and Gravity Marketing are pictured here

It's fun to see how the marketing committee from Local First Milwaukee, ended up using my photos for some PR. It all started when I posted images (smiling folks at the door) from a day that I was at 5 LFM-shops. Lisa Malmarowski, a marketing genius and all around wonderful, and creative gal friend, saw my images and asked if she could use them for the marketing campaign for recruitment of local businesses.

What the heck is Local First Milwaukee you ask? A whole lot of good! Click the link for more infor!

Join us today if you work in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Racine and Ozaukee county.

Buying from a local business has many positive impacts for our city and its communities. The more support we give to community based businesses the more we get back.
In order to make Milwaukee a more sustainable community, our goal is to build market share for locally-owned, independent businesses by increasing awareness about the personal and community benefits of choosing local.
Remember, for every $1 you spend at a locally owned business, more than 68¢, versus 43¢ spent at a national chain, remains in Milwaukee.
