I've noticed on facebook that friends have called Labor Day weekend - the last days of summer. Officially summer ends September 21st and Autumn begins on the 22nd. But I get it. It's an emotional thing. Kiddos go back to school, no more days of play, no more late nights, or longer weekends, and the days start out a bit cooler and darker. Dang, I love this time of year! I love the crisp mornings. Hot coffee again. The light this time of year is also my favorite. It's gentle unlike summer light. It's partly because I look at light from a photographer's eye, but also I feel better and more energy in this light.
This past weekend, I was at my parent's house hanging with our lil Molly. I like to challenge myself with my photography of subjects that I see and know well by trying to take different angles, lighting, seeing them in different ways. My parents backyard provides a beautiful backdrop year round.
The field photo is from the Glacial Drumlin Trail in Waukesha County. I never tire of that view. I hope it stays a corn field for years to come.
Hope you enjoyed your last days of summer! ;)
