Companion Art Gallery

Sandy & Riley

Mary, Ollie & Izzy

I met Sandy & Dan Sykora years ago while photographing them for Fetch magazine. They own a pet walking service, Bayview Pampered Pets. Just recently, they opened Companion Art Gallery, for cat & dog lovers. Mary Schultz helped get Sandy going and is the gallery manager. Check them out while in Bayview. Why yes, I do have some of my art there as well. :)

Molly in August

I was hoping to photograph Molly in her new doggie pool. That was a bust! She just wasn't digging it. :( Not too worry, both Joe and I enjoyed the cool water.

Strings of Things ....

My photo viewers
I wanted to share a few images (which doesn't do the art justice) from the recent "Strings of Things" show. There were over 30 artists. Quirky, silly, fun, innovative, wacky, interactive, beautiful, brilliant, dreamy, and just plan cool works of art. It was curated and the brain child of my dear friend, Becky Tesch, a talented Milwaukee artist. This show put a big goofy smile on my face! A crying shame if you missed this one.

Backgrounds in the Forefront - art opening

Exhibit photos from Kay McKinley
My photography
Overall shot
I was invited to be part of this show, at the Peninsula School of Art, Door County. I feel greatly honored to be along side such amazing, talented artists.

August 19 – September 24
Gallery Talk: Friday, August 19, 4-5pm
Opening Reception: Friday, August 19, 5-7pm
Clues to the personality of a portrait’s subject are many times, literally, kept in the background. The symbols are as visible in the Dutch paintings from the early Renaissance as they are in the contemporary photojournalists’ environmental portrait. This exhibition will shine a light on modern symbolism with representative paintings in a variety of styles. To further illustrate the theme, there will be a video installation that enables viewers to perceive the change of a subject’s identity with changing backgrounds. Participating artists include painters Bill Suys, Dawn Whitelaw, Stanka Kordic and Katie Musolff, photojournalist Erwin Gebhard, portrait photographer Stephanie Bartz.
